Phillip Huffines carries on three generations of interests in business and community work in the Dallas area. He adds to that the capacity to create a new style of community living with his twin brother, Donald. The two brothers first brokered and developed beautiful communities around Dallas and purchased more than 2,500 lots and several thousand acres of land from the RTC and various financial institutions in the early 1990’s.
Phillip graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981 with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management. After working for Getty Oil Company in Houston for two years, he moved back to Dallas and entered real estate.
Phillip and Donald have assembled more than seventy limited partnerships and developed numerous properties. Beginning in 1998 they focused on developing large master planned communities, including Waterview (1750 homes) in Rowlett, Texas; Panther Creek with 1,000 acres in Frisco; Artesia (1500 homes) in Prosper; Providence (2200 homes) and Savannah (2350 homes) in Denton County; Verandah (1500 homes) in Royce City and Viridian (3000 homes) in Arlington. Their most recent master planned community is Inspiration which just opened on Parker Road near St. Paul and will have 1400 home sites. There are also active multi-family developers currently with 562 apartments under construction in Lewisville and Rowlett.
Throughout his career, Phillip has evaluated, researched and invested in several endeavors, including auto dealerships and small venture capital groups. He is a minority owner in the Huffines Auto Group, which has sales of over $400,000,000.
Phillip is a member in the Urban Land institute and served as a panelist in the DFW Master-planned community seminar. Phillip is known as a leader in creating and developing financially successful TND (Traditional Neighborhood Design) communities. He is active in politics and numerous political organizations.
Phillip has established an unblemished reputation of high integrity. He brings undaunted enthusiasm to every project in addition to the commitment for excellence and an unwavering dedication to success for everyone involved in the community.
He has been married to Holly Hartwell for twenty-nine years; they have three children, Haley (25), Hayden (23) and Garrett (22). Phillip enjoys exercising, skiing, biking, hunting and mountain climbing. His family climbed Mt. Kilamajaro together in 2009. He is passionate about teaching business classes at local high schools as a volunteer with Junior Achievement where he encourages students to start their own business and inspires them to set larger goals for their lives.
