Continuing a practice of three generations of business and community work in the Dallas area, Phillip and his twin brother, Co-Owner Donald, have developed their Land Development and Land Investing legacy by creating superior master planned communities and multifamily community living styles. The firm has developed over 15,000 single family homesites, 2,800 multifamily units in the DFW metroplex, and invested in thousands of acres of land. The Huffines name has become widely esteemed within the industry and the State of Texas. Huffines Communities has assembled over 100 limited partnerships, created hundreds of jobs in North Texas, and generated over $8 Billion in asset values. In 2021 alone, Huffines Communities invested over $120 MM in land.
Phillip has established an unblemished reputation of high integrity. He brings to every project undaunted enthusiasm, a commitment to excellence, and an unwavering dedication to success for everyone involved. He has been married to Holly Hartwell for more than 36 years; they have three adult children, Haley, Hayden, and Garrett. Phillip graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981 with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management. Phillip enjoys exercising, skiing, biking, hunting, and mountain climbing. He is passionate about teaching business classes at local high schools as a volunteer with Junior Achievement, where he serves on the Board.
As Contract Manager, Mrs. Adkison is responsible for executing all contracts for our master planned communities, multifamily developments and new acquisitions. With Huffines Communities since 2006, her former roles include Accounts Payable Clerk, Accounts Payable Supervisor and Staff Accountant before her current position.
Holly graduated cum laude from Northwood University with a BBA in Management Information Systems and Business Management. She also holds an Associate degree in computer science, math and accounting.
As Digital Marketing Specialist, Aaron is responsible for creating and overseeing the company’s social media strategy for all Master Planned Communities, multi-family communities and Huffines Communities as a whole. He is also in charge of maintaining and updating all the company websites with relevant content, photos, events, etc on an as-needed basis.
After receiving his Undergrad in 2016, Aaron went straight to it, working for multiple news outlets as a Digital Content Producer/Manager. He has won numerous awards for his directing skills and even helped bring home an award for Digital Excellence while working in College Station, Texas. Aaron has a passion for videography and will do anything he can to turn a simple video into a work of art.
Aaron received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Studies and Minor in Communication Studies from West Texas A&M University then went on to The King’s University to become a Master of Organizational Leadership.
Aaron found a passion for fitness and really enjoys running. His goal is to conquer fifty half marathons in all fifty states. When Aaron isn’t at OrangeTheory, you can find him hanging out in Bishop Arts or visiting his best friends in San Marcos, Texas.
As Community Relations Director, Terry serves as the operational leader for all homeowner associations, from conception to transition. With over 30 years of successful business leadership within the hospitality and property management industries, Terry brings vision and support to build and strengthen association operations, enhance community culture, and deliver exceptional customer service. She collaborates with project managers, builders, property management, volunteer leadership and homeowners to implement results-oriented strategic plans that cultivate community involvement and establish the foundation for the long-term success of each community.
Previously, Terry served as a senior executive within the property management industry providing direction, continuing education, and leadership to Community Managers, Directors and Boards. She has also served the private club and resort industries in executive and consultant leadership roles specializing in revenue growth and customer service excellence.
Terry has authored articles on customer service and marketing for The Boardroom and Club Management Magazines, and served as a Speaker/Trainer for Crittenden, The Professional Marketing Association and Club Manager’s Association of America.
As a Project Manager, Edward’s responsibilities include financial analysis, due diligence, scheduling and budgeting, and construction management, among a variety of other roles. Prior to starting at Huffines Communities, Edward worked as a Project Manager for Lee Lewis Construction. Edward has an MBA in Finance and Real Estate from Southern Methodist University and a BS from the University of Texas at Arlington. His construction experience, coupled with an MBA, has led Edward to the development side of real estate, where his passions lie. In addition, Edward enjoys fishing, hunting, playing golf, and trying out new restaurants in his free time.
With over 18 years of accounting experience, ranging from multi-family development and general construction to property management, Sheri brings many talents to Huffines Communities. She is responsible for the overview and preparation of financial information for several of the organization’s entities. With a strong background in the accounting software, Timberline, she is a great asset in adapting new investment opportunities into the software for GAAP reporting purposes.
As Senior Vice President, Mrs. Blankenship is responsible for delivering to market the quality of communities that have built Huffines’ reputation. With over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry, she works closely with the Huffines team to engage, manage and coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, attorneys, consultants and governmental agencies from inception to completion of each development. Her expertise in overseeing communities’ development, from entitlements through buildout, is a constructive formula for building successful communities. Mrs. Blankenship maintains a balance between effective people management, cost control, and corporate goals, with communication being the key ingredient.
A highly distinguished figure in the industry, Mrs. Blankenship has recently been awarded Project Manager of the Year twice: McSam Award (2018) and the Texas Star Award (2017). Also, Ms. Blankenship is a graduate of the Dallas Builders Association Leadership Program, Class of 2019.
Previously, she was Director of Land Development for a homebuilder in Dallas, developing over 3,500 single- family lots and entitling/acquiring additional lots in over 50 metroplex communities. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Civil engineer; designing, entitling and developing commercial properties, single family residential lots, and master planned communities in California, Arizona, Nevada and Texas.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Northern Arizona University. Mrs. Blankenship is currently a Texas Licensed Professional Engineer and a California Registered Professional Engineer.
As a construction manager, Jerry is responsible for contractor coordination to maintain the production schedule and ensure that Huffines Communities continue the tradition of developing first class family-centered Signature Communities.
Jerry is a second generation veteran of the construction industry with 40 years of hands on experience, starting with working in the ditch as a laborer through supervision and company ownership.
He graduated from Texas A&M Commerce with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology and one in Business Administration. He also has a Master of Science in Industry and Technology.
Attention to detail and a pursuit for excellence are traits of Mr. Edgren that emulates the high quality communities that the Huffines’ name has been known to deliver. As a Vice President, he brings 30+ years of broad experience with master planned communities to manage the team of engineers, contractors, and governmental agencies from due diligence through construction completion. His background as a consulting engineer, former suburban planning and zoning commission chairman, and a past HOA President for his neighborhood has helped to shape his 360 degree view when processing a residential development through the entitlement steps to bringing the vision to reality.
Previous experience with Hillwood Communities and Wynne/Jackson, Mr. Edgren served as Development/Manager and Director of Engineering and Construction for over a decade while delivering over 700 lots per year across the DFW metroplex. His responsibilities included due diligence and analysis, large scale master-planning, development budgets and schedules, value engineering, contract administration and construction management. Mr. Edgren serves as President of the Heartland HOA and as President/Chairman of the Heartland Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization to benefit the school children in Heartland. He embraces the saying “Every job is a self-portrait of the person who does it. Autograph your work with excellence!”
He received his bachelor of science degree in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma State University; Mr. Edgren is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and active in Urban Land Institute and it’s Community Development Council. Since 2010, he also volunteers his time as a Leader/Moderator of the Real Estate Networking Group (RENG), a non-profit that encourages and provides tools to assist persons in the Real Estate arena who have lost their job, may be losing their job, or are in transition to a new career.

As a Senior Paralegal with Huffines Communities, Cheryl is responsible for contract administration, preparing and reviewing contracts and documents, performing due diligence concerning title and survey matters, and coordinating all closings. In addition, she assists in negotiating legal points on contracts and documents and acts as a liaison between the respective parties and their attorneys. Cheryl is also responsible for forming new entities and maintaining corporate books. Cheryl’s background includes years of experience handling transactions that include; single family master planned development, multi family development, office acquisitions, office development and retail projects located in Texas and throughout the United States. Cheryl brings her expertise as a senior paralegal to Huffines Communities with her knowledge, dedication, and natural desire to excel. Additionally, Cheryl supports the Owner, Executive Management, Directors and Project Managers. She worked for Huffines Communities from 1994 – 2011 and has rejoined Huffines Communities in 2021.
As a Project Manager at Huffines Communities, Israel is responsible for delivering master planned communities throughout the DFW area. He oversees projects starting from conceptualization through the delivery of the final product.
Israel previously worked as a Civil Engineer for seven and a half years focusing on single family residential design. His projects ranged from single phase subdivisions all the way to master planned communities. Israel worked in the construction side of Real Estate during High School, which led him to pursue a career in Land Development.
He graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and is currently a Licensed Professional Engineer. In his spare time, Israel enjoys exploring the outdoors and working on restoring his 1953 pickup.
As an Assistant Project Manager, Schuyler manages various land development tasks. Schuyler is passionate about the development process from conceptualization to final delivery as a creative and visionary thinker. Prior to joining Huffines Communities, Schuyler worked as an Owner’s Representative for a family office where he was responsible for executing projects from real estate development to entrepreneurial endeavors. Schuyler graduated with a BS from Southern Methodist University in 2016 and is currently working towards his MBA in Finance and Real Estate from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He is expected to graduate in May 2023. In his free time, Schuyler enjoys skiing, golfing and hanging out with the family dog, Boots.
As Construction Manager, Dewayne is responsible for single family development projects. He spends his days working closely with project managers and community managers to deliver the Huffines Communities vision for high-quality, family-oriented communities.
With over 15 years of experience, Dewayne has worked in construction from home building, excavation, hardscape and utilities. Mr. Grissom has worked for such companies as Ratliff Hardscape and H3 Construction.
His attention to detail and hard work make for a great fit in this role. Dewayne is a native of North Texas who enjoys spending time with family and friends.
As a Project Manager, Colin brings energy and aptitude to the master planned community development process. His background as a financial analyst, liaison to the Texas House Special Purpose Districts Committee, housing analyst, and legislative aide helped shape his understanding of the master planned development process. Previous experience with Apartment Realty Advisors, C-III Capital Partners, and Hudson Advisors helped prepare him for the world of real estate development.
Colin’s responsibilities include due diligence, analysis, large-scale master planning, development of budgets and schedules, value engineering, contract administration and construction management. He embraces the saying, “True perfection is a bold quest to seek. Only the willing and true of heart will seek the betterment of many.”
Colin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and minor in Spanish from Texas Christian University.

Garrett joined the Huffines Communities team as a Project Manager in 2018. As a project manager, Garrett oversees all aspects of development from project inception to completion. Garrett’s responsibilities include due-diligence, civil-coordination, contractor management, budgeting, scheduling, on-site construction management, design and master-planning, and jurisdictional and regulatory coordination.
His love of nature and penchant for practicality enhance his developments, incorporating green space and outdoor elements in an intentional functional design.
Ultimately, Garrett’s job is to implement the vision of his projects ahead of schedule successfully and under budget.
Garrett began his real estate career as a Development Associate with a national real estate development company, Foremark, Ltd., where he worked closely with national clients such as Saltgrass Steakhouse, Studio Movie Grill, and Primanti Brothers in site feasibility analysis and entitlements. While at Foremark, Garrett was promoted to Project Manager and worked with Foremark’s affiliate company, Palio Partners, where he served as a project manager and oversaw the design and entitlements of a 35,000 sf commercial entertainment building.
Garrett graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance and Certificate in Energy Management from the McCombs School of Business.

Barry Jameson is responsible for managing the Huffines Communities’ involvement with the special districts in which several of the company’s developments are located. These districts are political subdivisions of the state, with various water, wastewater, drainage and road powers. Acting as a liaison to the many entities involved with each district, he helps form, coordinates and manages these special districts.
His extensive background includes public accounting with a big-4 firm, financial reporting with a real estate company and professional placement services. Committed to excellence, he strives for the highest level of service in all that he does.
Mr. Jameson graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master’s in Accounting and has held certifications as a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Personnel Consultant.
Angela has more than 15 years of accounting experience in residential and commercial real estate, working for one of the largest real estate companies in Illinois.
Angela holds a BS in Economics from the University of Tirana, Albania. Passionate about accounting, Angela continued her education to eventually earn a Post Bachelor Certificate in Accounting from Benedictine University of Illinois in May 2015.
Angela moved from her country of origin, Albania, to Illinois in 1999. She moved from Illinois to Texas at the end of 2016, bringing her expertise to our Huffines team in 2017.
As Director of Marketing for Huffines Communities, Chellie Meziere manages and oversees all marketing aspects for the company. In her role of providing Realtor Relations, Chellie is the liaison between the developer (Huffines Communities), community builders, and the real estate community.
Prior to coming to work for Huffines Communities in January of 2012, Chellie worked as a licensed REALTOR®, holding several designations as well as being a graduate of the Texas Real Estate Leadership Program. Before that venture, Chellie owned and operated a freelance graphic design business for 21 years.
Actively involved with the local real estate community, she enthusiastically hosts or sponsors more than a dozen events a year to promote Huffines Communities’ various master planned communities throughout the Dallas Metroplex. Among these events is an annual Realtor Rewards trip honoring new home sales in the communities. The trips are first class, and previous destinations include Costa Rica, Bermuda, Maui, and several week-long cruises. Chellie is the recipient of several awards through the Dallas Builder’s Association and the Texas Builders Association for Special Event/Promotions and Marketing Professional of the Year. She is also a graduate of the 2019 Dallas Builders Association Leadership Program.
As a Project Manager with Huffines Communities, Sam oversees all aspects of the land development process. Sam follows the process from the project conceptualization, due diligence, entitlements, and permitting to the design, construction, and delivery of the final product.
Sam is genuinely passionate about land and infrastructure development. Previously, Sam worked as a Civil Engineer, designing single family residential lots and master planned communities throughout the DFW area. He later worked for a municipal engineering firm, where he joined forces with grant administrators to secure federal funds to construct much-needed infrastructure in rural east Texas towns.
Sam graduated cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas. Sam is a proud native of São Paulo, Brazil, and moved to Texas before completing his high school degree. Sam enjoys spending time with his family and is an active member of his church community.
As Sr. Construction Manager, Mr. Stackenwalt is responsible for the delivery of our Multifamily communities. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, he diligently works to deliver on the Huffines Communities vision of resort-style, uniquely designed communities. Utilizing his experience and expertise in delivering a multitude of differing project types, Sean has direct oversight of design and construction, emphasizing quality construction and cost controls.
Sean is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Master’s of Science in Construction Management.

As a data analyst, Ms. Tjandra provides database design and management services, as dictated by the company’s needs. She is responsible for collecting project development, sales and accounting data, and integrating data to produce suitable project tracking, reports, and financial reports.
Graduated with BBA in Accounting and MS in Computer Science, her software programming and accounting expertise allows her to facilitate better collaboration and communication amongst different parts of the company, such as by developing automated applications.
As Chief Financial Officer for Huffines Communities, Jeff Winker is responsible for reporting, process implementation, internal controls, and general oversight of all the financial and accounting operations. During his 30 year career in real estate investment, development and management, Jeff has served as the CFO for such prominent real estate companies as CentreFirst Management Company, Carbon Development and Henry S. Miller Interests, Inc.
Mr. Winker graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Accounting. Jeff has been married for 25 years and has 2 sons. Jeff enjoys golfing, hunting, helping young men earn their Eagle Scout award, and serving in various Christian ministries in the Dallas area.
Nate joined the Huffines Communities team as the Director of Special Projects in April 2022. Prior to joining the Huffines team, Nate worked as a consultant with PwC for over six years specializing in mergers and acquisitions. He applies his experience in due diligence, financial analysis, project management, and managing complex transactions to our various deals, including land acquisition.
Nate received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Business Administration from Iowa State University. The son of a 5th-generation farmer, Nate grew up in Marion, Iowa.
Although he was not born in Texas, he got here as fast as possible!
