Huffines Communities is all about seeing students succeed! Having access to necessities like school supplies is key to making that happen.
On Friday, August 30, 2019, our owner Phillip Huffines presented Hunt County Kids, Inc. with a donation of $1,000 for the school supply drive that HCK provides for Quinlan schools each year.
Hunt County Kids, Inc. is a non-profit organization serving the underprivileged children of Hunt County: an area comprised of several small towns with a population of over 90,000. 60% of the students in Hunt County are considered economically disadvantaged by the Texas Education Agency. Of those, many live in dire and unbelievable conditions.
Hunt County Kids works closely with local schools, churches, and agencies to address the needs of children that are not being met, including utility bills, clothing, food, school supplies, medications and much more.
For the past 8 years, HCK has collected enough school supplies to provide approximately 450 children with a backpack and every school supply on their school supply list. When presenting our donation to the organization Phillip Huffines said “It is an honor and privilege to give to an organization that supports their local school on a large scale. Helping to ensure every child starts their year off successfully is something we want to help out and be a part of in giving.”
