As Hurricane Ida pushed through on Sunday, millions of homes and businesses in Louisiana and Mississippi were left without power.
Ida was said to be one of the most powerful hurricanes ever to hit the U.S. mainland.
If you’re looking for ways to donate to those struck by Hurricane Ida, look no further. Inspiration Residents have teamed up with organizations that are currently taking donations; this is how you can help.
Kelley Tucker, a resident in Inspiration, is currently working with Dream Center Dallas, Minuteman Disaster Response, and Church Eleven32 to deliver much-needed supplies to those in need.
They are currently collecting monetary donations and supplies like water, tarps, bug spray, canned or non-perishable food items and cleaning supplies. All donations will be going toward the Hurricane Ida relief efforts in the hardest-hit areas of southeast Louisiana.
“I am originally from LaPlace, Louisiana in St. John the Baptist Parish, born and raised. My husband and I still have several immediate family members and close friends in the area, so it couldn’t have hit any closer to home than it did. After hearing firsthand of the devastating loss, Dream Center Dallas in conjunction with Church Eleven32 committed to not only sending supplies, but also providing 100 meals a day to the police officers serving and protecting those residents.”

They are accepting physical donations through Thursday and those can be dropped off at the Inspiration HOA office or Church Eleven32 in Allen. Monetary donations are being collected through next week.
