The city council has approved the preliminary plat of Waterscape, a planned subdivision with plans for more than 1,000 residential lots.
The preliminary plat approved June 28 by the city council covered 79.09 acres. The property is located off Farm to Market 548 at Crenshaw Road.
Elvio Bruni, president of Dallas-based Huffines Communities, said he is hopeful to start developing the project by the end of the year. He said the subdivision will have between 1,017 and 1,025 lots. Bruni said he expects home prices to be between $200,000 and $220,000.
Home builders, he said, will include Impressions, History Maker Homes and Horizon Homes.
Union Square, a D.R. Horton development off FM 2642 across from Royse City High School, is a 500-lot housing subdivision that was the topic of discussion during the June 28 meeting of the Royse City Community Development Corporation’s Board of Directors.
